About this activity
Begin your exciting port stopover in Juneau by meeting your guide at the Mt Roberts Tramway. From there, hop on a bus driven by your guide to to Auke Bay, where you’ll get on a jet boat and set out on Alaska’s waters on a 2-hour cruise.

The naturalist guide will narrate your journey across blue waters, as you brace your camera for photo-worthy moments like humpbacks breaching into the clear air, pods of killer whales searching for prey and Steller sea lions taking in the sun. Kick back with onboard refreshments, including soft drinks, water, coffee and hot chocolate. Refuel with a favorite local snack of wild-caught Alaskan salmon spread on a bagel.

They advertised that it was minimal walking it was not. The Bus had to park approx. 4 blocks from the gangway. Once we got to the gangway which was extremely steep, we had to walk another 3 block to the boat.then of course back to the bus My husband and I, both, has walking problems. We held up the whale watching. The crew and other passengers took everything with a grain of salt but it was extremely painful for us. The bus driver was very informative about the area and the sights the boat crew as very professional. I was a little disappointed that we only saw a few whale sprays and dorsal fins.

Wonderful experience, my 13 year old son and 78 year old father said it was the highlight of our trip. The staff and crew were very friendly and knowledgeable.

The whale watching excursion was wonderful! I learn some interesting information from our guide as we searched for the whales. Our driver knew just where to go to find the feeding whales. What a spectacular sight to see a whale come up out of the water and then dive back down! Loved the whole adventure!

We had an amazing time! Captain John and our naturalist Olivia were great at getting us many great sightings as well as a lot of great information. The price was much lower than the cruise ship offered. I would definitely recommend it.
