Juneau Shore Excursions: Helicopter Dogsledding Experience and Additional Glacier Landing

If you select hotel pickup, you’ll kick off your Alaskan experience with an informative and entertaining van ride from your Juneau hotel or cruise ship port to the heliport to begin your amazing helicopter tour. Board a state-of-the-art helicopter and take to the skies over the glaciers of the Juneau Icefield. Marvel at aerial views as glacier-carved mountains unfold before your eyes.

Land at a secluded camp on Herbert Glacier for your dogsled ride nestled among mountain peaks in a vast, ancient snowfield, you’ll feel like you’re the only group in the world on this glacier landing. You’ll be greeted by a team of Alaskan huskies at the camp for your dogsled ride and you’ll hop in the sled and let your dogs pull you and your family and friends along the magnificent snowfields. While on the tour, you’ll have the choice of riding the runners or being comfortably seated on the sled.

When your time on the glacier is over, on the return leg of your experience, we land your party at a lower level of the Herbert Glacier to see some beautiful features of glacial movement that are really highlighted at the more advanced edge of the glacier. Then you'll have the opportunity to add the memory, and photos, of moulins, crevasses, ice falls and the iconic blue glacier ice to your experience. If you are real adventurous, stick your face in a glacier pool and taste the purest water on earth!

The total tour time is approximately 2 hours, from liftoff at the heliport to return to the helicopter base. When you land, you’ll be taken back to your Juneau hotel or cruise ship port.
