This 4.5-hour expedition departs from your Juneau hotel or the cruise port, where you'll board a top-of-the-line cruising vessel that's steady through the deep waters of Saginaw Channel and Favorite Channel or Lynn Canal and Stephens Passage.
A typical whale-watching adventure cruise arrives in the vicinity of humpback whales within about 20–30 minutes after departing the dock. Your captain and crew maximize your time with the whales so that you can observe their natural behavior. These giants, eleven times the size of an elephant, will amaze you with their gracefulness and power.
Bring a warm jacket and take advantage of the upper observation deck or open deck aft. If conditions allow, an underwater hydrophone will be deployed to give you the opportunity to hear the humpbacks’ incredible 'singing.' En route and on scene your guide will explain whale behavior. In addition to viewing humpback whales, and occasionally orcas, you're likely to spot Steller sea lions and bald eagles.

This excursion was amazing! Capt Alan and Hunter were perfect hosts. The boat was extremely comfortable and since we were the only 4 guests, pictures and viewing was not a problem. (The cruise line excursion had 50+ people on larger boats.) Captain Alan was quite knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
