About this activity
Your private tour begins when you meet your guide to start your adventure. Each tour group is limited to a maximum of six passenger for a very personalized experience.  On your way hiking through Hawaii Volcanoes National Park your guide will provide you with information surrounding the formation of the Hawaiian Islands. You will also be able to get up close and personal with the sight, smell and touch of sulfur crystals, steam vents, volcanic craters, previously active lava tubes and lush the tropical rainforests of Hawaii.

At the time of booking and during the tour you will be given the option to customize your adventure.

If you are fit and enjoy hiking, you can choose the hiking intensive option which can include over 10 miles of hiking and as much as 400 feet of elevation gain. For this option you will feel the heat of steam vents, look for endangered Nene birds, explore sulfur banks, walk through a steaming crater, explore a lava tube, walk through a native Hawaiian rainforest, and then hike along lava fields as you ascend up the summit of Mauna Ulu. On clear days, this will provide you with gorgeous views of the park's various landscapes, the ocean and the dormant volcanoes of  Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa as well as Kilauea volcano's two active eruptions at Halemaumau and Puu Oo.

Your other option is to  feel the heat of steam vents, look for endangered Nene birds, explore sulfur banks, walk through a steaming crater, explore a lava tube, and then visit a true black sand beach frequented by turtles. Afterwards you will also visit the southernmost winery in the United States to enjoy a tour of the winery, tea plantations, and  complimentary tea and wine samples.
