OLIVES AND VIRGIN OLIVE OIL DAY IN KALAMATA WITH LUNCH IN OUR FARM

The best season for you to take this activity is during the harvest season, from mid-October to the end of January every year. During this season we have the opportunity to collect the fruits from the farm olive trees and to attend the process of extracting the olive oil in an oil mill.

During the rest seasons you can still enjoy a walk through the endless olive groves, touch and smell the trees and get involved in their annual cultivation and care. 

You will learn everything concerning cultivation, process and production from the olive picking to the bottled olive oil or edible table olives.

But also you will learn how to use the olive oil as hair tonic, to remove make-up or to moisturize your skin,to make olive oil soaps or how to polish wood furnitures or preserve foods by using the olive oil.

You can plant in our farm an olive tree from a seedling and after 4-5 years we can send you home “your own extra virgin olive oil” for a real “Personal Enjoyment”! If you are in a hurry you can adopt an adult olive tree too! (This will be the Greatest Experience and Memory from Greece).

Your experience ends at our farm with tasting of various extra virgin olive oils, aromatic olive oils, table olives and olives “pate”. You will taste various grades of olive oil, learning about the differences in their texture, flavor, colour, acidity and quality and you will learn to recognize the various qualities and characteristics of an authentic “Extra Virgin Olive Oil” and to omit the various “commercial terms”.

Enjoy a tasteful traditional lunch in the farm accompanied with toasted bread made in woods burning oven and topped with various extra virgin olive oils, olives and olive “pate”, various local delicatessen, salads with various “olive oil dressings” and lots of wine and ouzo.

Finally, filled with experiences and knowledge we will return you to our meeting point.
