About this activity
ADMIRE, INDULGE, UNWIND

Guided tours of the Allerton Garden are part garden tour, part art exhibit and entirely unique. Visitors are guided through expertly crafted garden rooms that feature exotic plants, sculptures, and water features. Then, enter the private estate house of the Allertons and enjoy a light dinner on the lanai as you hear the waves of the ocean meet the sands of the beach.

Nestled in the stunning Lawai Valley, Allerton Garden as we know it today has a rich history of philanthropy, art, and botanical curiosity that begins with Robert Allerton. Robert was an aspiring artist, and philanthropist, but it wasn’t until he became an amateur landscape architect that he discovered his life’s purpose – to become a patron of the arts. In 1938 Robert purchased 83 acres of the valley with his lifetime companion and adopted son John Gregg, and created his garden paradise. Together they transformed the grounds to become a living museum of curated plant collections, priceless art, and water features.
