The ahupua’a consisted of a slice of land like a piece of pie, that runs from the top of the mountains down to the sea, often following the boundary of a stream. Early Hawaiians depended on one another and shared the fruits of their labor with one another. Na Waiwai – Hawaiian values were the building blocks that best described their behavior. This exceptional tour provides a first-hand experience of early Polynesian life.
After a quick check-in at Holo Holo Charters in historic Port Allen, we will transport you through a private entrance in Kalaheo to the National Tropical Botanical Gardens for an unsurpassed look at one of the largest collections of native Hawaiian flora in existence. Ride along a winding back road that overlooks an exquisite emerald-green valley, clothed with close to 15,000 living native Hawaiian plants.
