Itinerary

Day 1: Athens - Santorini

Stop At: Santorini Volcano, Greece
Start your trip to Santorini with a pick up from your central Athens hotel in the early morning and travel to Piraeus Port where your boat awaits. Board your ferry for the leisurely 8-hour crossing to Santorini, or upgrade to include a crossing by speedboat and arrive on the island in time for lunch. Once docked at Santorini Port, travel to your hotel which located in either Perissa or Kamari. Check in to your hotel, and spend the rest of your day at leisure. If you upgraded to the high-speed crossing, check out one of the island’s waterfront tavernas for lunch, and then perhaps take a stroll around Oia, a picturesque village known for its white Cycladic buildings and blue-domed churches. In the evening, catch the famous Santorini sunset, watching the skies change color over the island’s caldera (a half-submerged volcanic crater), and then check head to Fira. The island’s colorful capital is home to a collection of lively bars and tavernas offering Greek island specialties and international cuisine.
Duration: 1 day

No meals included on this day.
Accommodation included: Overnight at A class or T class hotel

Day 2: Santorini - Athens

Stop At: Santorini Volcano, Greece
After breakfast, check out of your hotel, and then spend the morning and afternoon doing whatever you wish. Make the most of the Santorini sunshine by basking on one of the island’s volcanic beaches such as Perissa or Perivolos. Alternatively, pay a visit to the old port of Ormos for lunch at one of the quaint tavernas lining the bottom of the caldera’s cliffs. Access to the old port is tricky with some 600 stone steps, so take the cogwheel cable car instead and marvel at the sea views on the way. The ferry crossing to Piraeus Port leaves mid-afternoon, so return to your hotel at the prearranged time for your transfer to Santorini Port. Embarkation for the speedboat crossing is in the early evening, leaving you with longer to enjoy the island before heading back to Athens. On arrival at Piraeus Port, finish your overnight experience with a drop-off at your central Athens hotel.

All the pick-ups and transitions were seamless. The ferry was about 5 hours, but you are basically "cruising" the Greek Islands and the scenery was amazing. The hotel upgrade is definitely worth booking and we were able to fit in quite a bit in this short trip.

Trip was a good intro to one of the most popular Greek Islands. Trip to Santorini went seamlessly with prompt pickups at the hotel and at the port upon arrival in Santorini. We needed to find our hotel after drop off without a hotel voucher with only the name of the hotel provided by the driver. The hotel was quaint rated 2-3 star and the Island scenery spectacular. Our pickup time was provided by the hotel as 13:45 but driver did not arrive until 14:05 when provided some anxious waiting time. We made it in plenty of time to the boat for the 8 hour cuisine back to Athens where our driver was waiting to take us back to the hotel. All in all a satisfactory trip which was a good taste of Santorini. However, it did feel at times that I did not have control of my trip with the transfers from hotel to ship to hotel.

My worst travel experience. Driver who met me in santorini port dropped me off in a corner pointing to another bus saying go, ride. Thinking it's part of the package, I did. Turned out it's a public bus. So I ended in a strange bus depot, abandoned, no help from anybody, no direction on what hotel, no contact number. Tired from the long ferry ride, I checked in the first hotel. My advice: book round trip. blue star ferry yourself. Only 70 euros round trip. Hotels are many in santorini. You'll save hundreds. Or book with another professional tour group.

Trip gives enough time for one to explore Santorini. The Greco resort hotel offered is highly recommended !

Well please read this before booking the tour! Hotel booking, taxi pickups was arranged perfectly by Viator, the problem is the trip itself is too short for Santorini! So no fault of viator but the exact timings need to be clarified. Because you are travelling by ferry from Piraus-Fira the travel time will cut your trip down drastically! The express ferry gets you there in 4.5 hours approx.. Do book it as the normal one reaches by 3 PM at santorini. Also the club class upgrade is worth it. DETAILS: DAY 1 :Depart from hotel 6 AM Ferry leaves for FIRA 7 AM Reach Fira at 1:30 PM Travel to hotel kamari approx half hour.. Taxi to Fira half hour Enjoy Santorini Day 2 : Ferry departs 1:10 PM Not much time to sightsee as need to head back to hotel for pickup and head to port! So as you see you dont have much time at all!! For those just seeking santorini 'experience' it will do. But i would advise to plan ahead book flights and save your time and money. Suggested itinerary : Fira afternoon - Oia late eve/ sunset - ammoudi fish tavern - back to hotel next day : if possible enjoy kamari beach

Problem began in Santorini, The lady who had my name was not visible enough. I had to go to the tourist info and pay 2 euro to make a phone call. No info as to name and address of our hotel in santorini. Cold lady at the reception of Kymata. No coordination as to what time our pick up is.

Santorini is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Be prepared for a lot of walking if you're going to see the famed Blue-domed church. The only downside was not knowing which hotel I was going to stay at until I got dropped off. It worked out for the best as I was in an amazing hotel, less than a minute from the beach. The beach has rocks instead of sand so make sure you have proper footwear as the rocks can be extremely hot.
