The Folóï oak forest is an oak forest in southwestern Greece. It is located in the municipal unit Foloi, Elis, in the western part of the Peloponnese peninsula. The Folóï oak forest is situated at an altitude of 688m, on the plateau of the Folóï mountain. It is an ecosystem unique in the Balkan peninsula and consists of a territory of 9,900 acres (40 km2), which is almost entirely covered by deciduous oaks that form a dense forest area.

The Archaeological Museum of Olympia, one of the most important museums in Greece, presents the long history of the most celebrated sanctuary of antiquity, the sanctuary of Zeus, father of both gods and men, where the Olympic games were born. The museum's permanent exhibition contains finds from the excavations in the sacred precinct of the Altis dating from prehistoric times to the Early Christian period. Among the many precious exhibits the sculpture collection, for which the museum is most famous, the bronze collection, the richest collection of its type in the world, and the large terracottas collection, are especially noteworthy.

The Katakolon Museum of Ancient Greek Technology is a small museum located at the entrance of Katakolon town next to the train station. The exhibitions found in this museum are a collection of inventions of the ancient Greeks dating from 2000 B.C to 100 A.D.

The museum was founded by Kostas Kotsanas and is located a walking distance from the port, approximately 400-500 meters away. The museum offers audio-visual support for the visitors so that they can have a better experience. All items in the museum are explained using English labels but the museum curator can also offer a guided tour in both English and French upon visitors’ request.

Stop At: Museum of Ancient Greek Musical Instruments, Epar. Od., Katakolo 270 67 Greece

Opposite the central square in Katakolo, (under the auspices of the Μunicipality of Pyrgos), the Museum of Ancient Greek Musical Instruments and Toys & Games "Kostas Kotsanas" houses approximately 50 (reliably operating) reconstructed musical instruments and toys & games of the ancient Greeks.

The exhibits are accompanied by rich audio-visual material (in Greek and English), while many of them are interactive.

The exhibition (categorised in thematic units) follows the modern educational perception in Pedagogic and Museum Education so that it acts multileveled as far as the greatness of ancient Greek technological thought and technique is concerned.
