we had a remarkable time. enjoyed cooking, eating, the view, and the company. felt relaxed, got involved in the cooking, and ate way too much. this was really a great time for all.
Located at an upscale bakery near Monastiraki Square, 8 of us bonded over Greek food. Highlight was dinner on rooftop with a stunning view of the Acropolis. Suggestions would have multiple assigned jobs to participants as it was a lot of time standing and observing. This was a long eve from 530 P til after 10P. More food than we needed. Would skip the chicken entree. Focus on other items only. Delicious!
We really enjoyed our cooking class. Stam was a great teacher and knowledgable chef. The recipes were practical and included authentic spanakopita as well as more modern chocolate mouse. The food was delicious and the views of acropolis at night unforgettable!
This was my favorite tour of all time. You start in the commercial kitchen of a baker/deli and learn how to make several Greek dishes. Stam, our chef and instructor, was charming and knowledgeable. We rolled dough for spinach pie, made the sauce for our main dish, and created a scrumptious dessert. All this food is then taken to the roof of the building where we dined overlooking the Acropolis.
Highly recommend this cooking class. We were pleasantly surprised how much we enjoyed the authentic Greek cooking class and enjoyed meeting and sharing with new friends! The restaurant makes EVERYTHING from scratch and share some of their secrets and recipes. We made a chicken dish, Greek salad, chocolate mousse, Spinach pie, and Tzatziki. We got to enjoy the fruits of our labor with wine while overlooking the Acropolis at sunset. Take the class!!!
From the moment we met Stamatios in Monastiraki Square until we ate the last bite of our meal, we knew this was a special evening. Stam was professional, fun, interesting, and an excellent teacher. He guided us through the art of making Spanakopita while we rolled out our Filo, squeezed our spinach and crushed our feta. Our chicken and pepper dish was phenomenal, as was our Tzatziki, and chocolate and orange mousse. The spanakopita was truly a work of art. Stam explained where the ingredients came from, and did so with such pride for his country. When we finished and retired to the rooftop overlooking the Acropolis, the evening became even better. Stam served us our choice of wine and then our dinner. Every moment of this experience was absolutely wonderful. It was the best part of my week long trip to Athens. Please don't miss this!
Spiros was an absolutely delight. Great energy and he was always eager to make sure the guests have a wonderful time, which we did. The rooftop view was something special!
This was a great cooking class and the view of the Acropolis from our private table was astounding. The chef has an amazing amount of energy and enthusiasm about Greek cooking.
Loved it from beginning to end. Spiros is a great leader/cook. We would do it again without question.
