Greek Wine Tasting & Greek Cooking Class (4 hours)

We are tasting five different wines from Greece. We will come across at some great examples that represent true expressions of the Greek terroir. Along the tasting you should be able to find out about Greek indigenous varieties and how they naturally pair with Greek food.
The tasting will be guided by Sommelier Vasilis Dimos. He will describe Greece’s climate and characteristics along with the factors that influence the production of Greek wines. You will be provided with two wine glasses, and a description sheet where you can make notes and scores about the wines you taste.
17.00 pm : We meet at Onion Athens and make introductions with a wine cocktail.
17.30 pm : We start the preparation of our meze plate. We enjoy our meze with the glass of our first wine to get us into the cooking and tasting mood.
18.00 pm : We start our cooking class. We prepare a salad, a starter and a main dish. We use only fresh and seasonal ingredients of high quality. We cook with extra virgin olive oil. Each person has its own note book with the recipe, culinary tips and is free to keep notes during the class.
19.30 pm: We we enjoy our meal together. We pair each dish with a greek wine and learn more about the origins of it.
20.30 pm : We prepare dessert and close our meal with our fifth glass of sweet wine and Greek yogurt and honey.
21.00 pm : End of cooking class.
At the end of the tasting you should be able:

2.Understand how they pair with the mediterranean and Greek cuisine
