Hills Of Athens Walking Tour

After meeting with your Aegean Outdoors guide, we make a short climb up to Lykavittos, a Cretaceous limestone hill in Athens, in order to enjoy the stunning views of this remarkable city in all directions! The Presidential Mansion, the National Gardens, the temple of Zeus, Hadrians arch and the Odeon of Herodus Atticus are just a few sites that we are passing during this unique tour! “Secret” highlight is the picturesque Anafiotika area and its island-like alleys colored by the impressive bougainvillea flowers. Feel like strolling in the narrow paths of a Greek island surrounded by white-washed houses, blue windows and small beautiful gardens!Areopagus hill, the place which used to be the supreme court of ancient Athens is the ideal spot for breathtaking views to the Acropolis! On the hill of Pnyx, spot the “bema”, the stepping stone from where talented rhetors of antiquity such as Demosthenes and Aristeides used to influence the citizens of Athens. Aiming for the top of Philopappou Hill, you will meet an old church and the place where Socrates may have been imprisoned. At the hilltop, see the Monument of Philopappos and experience the views to the Acropolis, Piraeus and the Saronic Gulf. Final part of our tour is the Dionysiou Areopagitou street along the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and the Acropolis museum.
