Your day begins at 9:00AM with a complimentary pickup at your accommodation, and continues for a 60-minute scenic drive to one of the most northern grape growing areas in North America. Through the oversize tour windows you will witness the landscape transition from the arid, ancient geology of the distinctive hoodoos to the forested hillsides that wrap around the nearby mountain-fed lakes where salmon come to spawn and rainbow trout nibble at trolling lines.
Shuswap lake is the dominant feature in the region; spreading its four long arms between rolling evergreen covered hills. Each vineyard has its own individual micro climate which gives special character to the wines produced there. Hard to find varietals include Ortega, Siegerebe, and Madeleine Angevine, along with popular Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Marechal Foch. Stopping to taste at a minimum of 4 wineries, you will enjoy a delicious break in your day at the Barley Station Brew Pub where you will be invited to select from a selection of made-in-house menu items and artisan craft brews at your own expense. This is a great stop to refresh your wine palate and satisfy your appetite.
