The park is bisected by the Victoria Nile, which plunges 45m over the remnant rift valley wall, creating the dramatic Murchison Falls.

More famously, this “impenetrable forest” protects an estimated 320 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population, including several habituated groups which can be tracked.

After breakfast, leave early in the morning to meet your gorilla friends. You will be briefed by a ranger guide before entering the forest for your gorilla tracking adventure. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists.
