4 Days Fly - in Gorilla Safari

DAY 1: SCHEDULED FLIGHT TO BWINDI

Fly on a scheduled (daily) flight to Kisoro Airstrip

Upon arrival at Kihihi, you’ll be met by a Only One Safaris ’ representative and driven to Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest; approximately one and half hour’s drive. There are a variety of optional activities that can be done this afternoon (time permitting), these include:-

Village Community Walk (Optional)

Embark on a community walk through the local villages surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Optional activities include visits to a traditional home, local orphanage or school, banana brewing demonstrations and even meeting traditional medicinal healers. This three to four hour walk is easily tailored to your individual schedule and interests.

Canoe Excursion on Lake Mutanda (Optional)

Transfer to the Gorilla Junction for coffee and meet with walking safari guide. Conduct the walking safari to embark on dugout canoe on Lake Mutanda piloted by local fishermen. You will then continue walking through the villages to then rendezvous with your vehicle to transfer to Nkuringo.

DAY 2: GORILLA TRACKING ACTIVITY

Gorilla tracking activity, certainly one of the most exciting days of your safari; today you will be gorilla tracking. Breakfast will be served early and lunch will be packed. The briefing is at 8 am. Your guide will give you highlights of specific details about the way of life of the gorillas you will be tracking. The hike can take anything from one to seven hours. Once you reach the gorillas, you are allowed to spend one hour with them as you stand 6 meters away

Overnight at Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge – private en-suite cottage (FB)

Day 3: FOREST WALK OR COMMUNITY WALK

You have the opportunity to undertake a full day trekking, accompanied by our local guides through the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest one of the most diverse habitats on earth and home to 120 species of mammals, 200 varieties of tree and more than 50 reptiles

You will rendezvous with your vehicle in the village of Nteko on the DR Congo border to be transported 10km back to Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge

DAY 4: SCHEULED FLIGHT KISORO – ENTEBBE

Transfer to Kisoro Airstrip to catch scheduled flight to Entebbe, the flight arrives in Entebbe at about 11:00am, and you will transfer to Papyrus Guesthouse for day-room use to then transfer later in the Evening for flight outbound Entebbe.
