Day 1: Kanazawa - Alpine Route - Kurobe Dam - Nagano

Stop At: Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, Ashikuraji, Tateyama-machi, Nakaniikawa-gun 930-1406 Toyama Prefecture
Experience of one Japan`s most iconic sights – the immense Snow Walls of the Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route and witness the dramatic mountain landscape of the Chubu Sangaku National Park.

Stop At: Kurobe Dam, Ashikuraji, Tateyama-machi, Nakaniikawa-gun 930-1406 Toyama Prefecture
A highlight of this section of your tour is the Tateyama Ropeway. Spanning 1700 meters, the ropeway affords amazing views of the surrounding alpine landscape as you quickly descend toward Kurobe Dam, via Kurobedaira.

Explore Zenko ji, a registered National Treasure, the temple is the most important cultural site in Nagano and one of the oldest and most important Buddhist temples in the entire country

  • Guests are required to follow the Snow Monkey Park rules at all times. Guests are not permitted to touch, hold, feed or bathe with the monkeys at any time. There are no barriers separating the monkeys from visitors to the park. Please ensure you keep a minimum distance of 1 to 2 meters between yourself and the monkeys. Your guide will explain the rules prior to entering the park.
  • Most travelers can participate
  • Please wear suitable shoes and clothing for alpine walking and cold conditions.
  • The Snow Walls are located at 2400 meters above sea level and weather can change quickly. Please ensure you have clothing suitable for changing conditions including rain and cooler temperatures (5 to 21℃).
  • Please bring sunglasses as the snow in combination with sunlight can produce intense glare.
  • In case of extreme weather conditions, routes to the snow corridor might close. In such a case, the tour will be cancelled with full refund.
  • During the winter it is common to see the Snow Monkeys enjoying the hot spring bath, however from spring up to autumn there will be times where the monkeys play or eat in the water, however please note that the monkeys are wild animals and there is no guarantee that there will be monkeys in the bath.
  • There are a few days in the year that the monkeys might not come down to the park. In such case we will provide an alternative activity.
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 15 travelers
