Day 1: Negombo- Kandy

Stop At: Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Sri Dalada Veediya, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka
In the Central Highlands, almost dead centre in the little island of Sri Lanka lays Kandy City. The crown jewel of the city is the famed Sri Dalada Maligawa, also known as the Temple of the Tooth. ‘Maligawa’ literally translates to palace, and the temple is part of the palace complex. The entire complex is over three centuries old at least, and has seen many a king’s rise and fall. It has seen bloody wars and peaceful reigns and is one of the most historical places still standing in the island.

Stop At: Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya Road, Peradeniya 20400 Sri Lanka
Considered Sri Lanka’s largest botanical garden, with 147 acres and over 4000 species of plants, Peradeniya Botanical Garden is a well-known attraction in Sri Lanka. The lush garden estate, also referred to as the Royal Botanical Garden is famed for its collection of 300 species of orchids.Among the 10,000 or more trees found in the park, are the Giant Bamboo of Burma, the century old giant Javan fig tree, the Cannonball tree and a range of exotic palms.

Stop At: Kandy Lake, Centre of Kandy City, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka
This artificial lake (Kandy Lake /the Nuwara Wewa) was built by the last king of Kandy (and of Sri Lanka), Sri Wikrama Rajasinhe to beatify the Temple of the Tooth Relic (Dalada Maligawa) by excavating paddy fields in 1807. He called this artificial lake the :Kiri Muhuda” or the Milky Ocean.
He also added the “Valakulu Bamma” (the clouds wall) around the lake but before he could complete, British forces invaded the city of Kandy and prisoned the last Kandyan King in 1815. The Walakulu Wall still remains in the same unfinished state with a length of 2060 feet.

Day 2: Kandy- Nuwara Eliya- Negombo

Stop At: Victoria Park of Nuwara Eliya, A5, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
The Victoria Park is located in the center of the Nuwara Eliya City. It is a quiet place inside the busy city of Nuwara Eliya. The park has formally named in 1897 to commemorate Queen Victoria‘s 60th anniversary. Originally the park has been the research field of Hakgala Botanical Garden. The park has established by planting of its first tree, an Oak, by a visiting German Princess.

Stop At: Nuwara Eliya Golf Course, Grand Hotel Road, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
Nuwara Eliya Golf Club,
It is one of the oldest Golf Clubs in Sri Lanka. Established in the late 19th century, it is located in the hill station of Nuwara Eliya. The course covers approximately 40.5 hectares (100 acres) of land and was originally built amidst the tea plantations of this central highland region. The course is located at an altitude of 1,830 metres (6,000 ft) above sea level. It is an 18 hole, 5,550 m (6,070 yd), Par 70 layout. The golf club currently has over 2,000 members.

Stop At: Post Office Nuwara Eliya, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
The Victorian-style red-brick building, one of the oldest post offices in the country, was built in 1894 according to the postal department. The top floor of the Nuwara Eliya post office has been developed into a holiday bungalow since 2012.
According to Department officials, the British Colonial rulers constructed the Victorian-style red-brick building to house the post office in the picturesque hill country city of Nuwara Eliya 116 years ago.
