Stop At: Spice Garden, Kandy, Sri Lanka

We will pick up the guests from any hotel in the following areas: Kalutara / Wadduwa / Bentota / Beruwela / Koggala / Ahungalla / Hikkaduwa / Galle / Negombo / Waikkal / Marawilla / Chillaw, and proceed to Kandy.

You will then visit a Spice Garden. There are several gardens in Kandy & Mawanella area which have a variety of spices such as Cinnamon, Clove, Cardamom, Black Pepper, Nut-meg etc. Clients are taken around the Garden to see the plants in their natural state. Guests can witness the process of extracting certain spices. The spices are also available for sale.

Next, you will visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya.

The history of the Royal Botanic Garden dates as far back as 1371 when King Wickramabahu III ascended the throne and kept court at Peradeniya near Mahaweli Ganga. Later, in the reign of King Kirti Sri Rajasingha from 1747 to 1780 this was made a Royal Garden and from 1780 – 1798 King Rajadhi Rajasinghr resided therein. This garden is one of the best in the world with its variety of plants. The best-known attraction in the Orchid house which houses more than 300 varieties of orchids.

You will go sight-see the city of Kandy.

This lovely city, the Hill Capital and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings retains an aura of grandeur, which time has not affected. Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its centre, it is the site of the renowned “Temple of the Tooth” and the Royal Botanical gardens, home to one of the best collections of Orchids. Kandy and its satellite villages is the centre of the islands handicraft industry and its traditional dances are the most spectacular in the country. Spice Gardens dot the outskirts of Kandy along with handicraft centers and the market place is a hub of activity.

Stop At: Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Sri Dalada Veediya, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka

You will finally visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy, Sri Lanka.

This temple houses the sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha and is one of the Holiest Buddhist places of worship in the world. The history of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Sri Lanka begins in the fourth century A.D. According to traditional history, it was during the reign of Kirti Sri Meghavanna. The Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha was brought to Sri Lanka from Kalinga in India (301-328 AD). A Temple for the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy was first built by King Vimaladharmasuriya I, when he ascended the throne of the Kandyan Kingdom in 1592 AD.

Afterwards, you will be dropped off at the hotel you were picked up from confirming the end of the tour.
