This bustling market is housed inside a two-storey building where you will find everything that you need to cook - fruits, vegetables, spices and dried fish. Get ready to discover a variety of new fruits and vegetables - Buddhima will give you a detailed tour explaining how the produce is used in Sri Lankan cooking. The tour of this local market will last approximately 1 hour. You will purchase fresh ingredients for your cooking class and then drive together 30 minutes to Buddhima's home.

Buddhima will welcome you to her home with a refreshing coconut juice and then join her in the kitchen for a hands-on cooking experience. You will learn to cook local Sri Lankan dishes using her mother's secret recipes. The cooking portion of the experience will last for one hour - you will learn to make dhal (lentils cooked in coconut milk), cassava (tapioca) curry and a regional vegetable dish made from banana flower!
