Stop At: Loolkandura, Deltota-Rikillagaskada Road, Rikillagaskada 20730 Sri Lanka

7:00am: You will be picked up from your hotel in Kandy and driven approximately one hour to reach the Taylor's Hill where you start your guided tea experience to the Loolkandura Estate. Loolkandura Estate in the Kandy district is the very first patch of tea was planted as a test after the failure of coffee plantation in Sri Lanka. With the wild success of this plantation, then 21 year old planter James Taylor, who was in charge of this plantation, has been forever immortalized and has become a part of post colonization history of Sri Lanka.

8:30am - 12:00pm: Enjoy a traditional Tuktuk to ride to the Estate and visit a number of historic sites in and around Loolecondera with a local guide who knows all about the estate.

James Taylor Seat & Tea Tree - Take a pitstop at James Taylors seat where he used to rest and sit, overlooking the valley and see the first tea bush he planted.

James Taylor Statue – A monument built in honour of the Godfather of Ceylon Tea as thanks from the local families who benefitted from the introduction of tea to the area.

The Loolecondera Tea Factory - A functioning government-owned tea factory which still contains some of the original equip-ment. Walk through the factory and learn about the intricate pro-cesses of making the perfect tea.

James Taylor Log Cabin – Walk up to the remains of where James Taylor once resided among pretty flower gardens and read the tale told in the ‘Ode to James Taylor’.

Weighing Stations - Observe gatherings of tea pluckers in their colourful sarees with their burgeoning bags of tea leaves as they weigh their daily harvest using original equipment from the heyday of Loolecondera Estate

12:15pm: Return to Taylor's Hill and drive back to your hotel
