9 Day Guided Tour in Nepal for Solo Travellers

9 days
With guide
About this activity
Day 1
We'll collect you from Tribhuvan Airport where our host will greet you and take you to the guest house in Thamel. Once all of our travellers have arrived we'll meet for refreshments where you can get to know the other guests and meet our local tour guide Biki.
Day 2
We'll be visiting the Garden of Dreams, wandering into the main garden from the street. Then we head off to the Swayambhunath, or as it's known the 'Monkey Temple' due to the crowds of Rhesus monkeys. Finally, we visit Durbar square, situated in the heart of Kathmandu. En-route you'll get to see life in Nepal and be able to buy fresh produce from locals if you wish.
Day 3
We'll be heading to Langtang, travelling by road for around 2 hours, with regular stops for refreshments. Once at our destination you'll have the opportunity to experience real life in Nepal and meet the Thapa's, a traditional mountain family, and try out and taste some traditional cooking of Selroti, a dish similar to a doughnut. Then we'll be off to the jungle where you'll get to take in the beauty of Langtang Valley, returning to Thamel for the evening.
Days 4 & 5
Boarding a short flight to Pokhara, we'll be visiting the Tibetan refugee camps where you'll get to experience the craftsmanship and produce of the local refugee's. You'll also have time to enjoy Tibetan cuisine, meet Buddhist monks and learn about their studies & activities. Before heading back for the day we'll take a walk around the beautiful Phewa Lake before heading to the guest house in Pokhara. We will then remain in Pokhara for day five, allowing you to relax and take in the local attractions.
Day 6
Travelling by road, from Pokhara to Chitwan, with breaks along the way. At our destination we will embark on a Jeep safari at the national park, where you'll get to see a huge variety of animals including Asian Elephants and Royal Bengal Tigers. There are elephant rides available, but as a company we do not endorse this activity, we'll however be visiting the elephant breeding centre and you will also get to experience traditional dancing with the jungle people. Once our day is complete you can enjoy a welcomed stay in the guest house before returning to Kathmandu.
Day 7
Heading to the airport for a short flight to Kathmandu, there will be time to discover the art & souvenirs on offer in Thamel with purchases supporting young artists. You'll also have time to purchase local gifts to take home. We will also come across some small temples, where you can apply red Tika's for good luck!
Day 8
You'll be heading to Kathmandu Spa and Wellness, an award winning spa, to enjoy some pampering treatments before your journey home. After a few hours of relaxation you'll get the chance to try out the local tea's and delicacies.
