Stop At: Boudhanath Stupa, Boudh Boudha, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal

Boudhanath is among largest stupas in South Asia and of course the largest stupa in Kathmandu Valley standing 36m above the ground. Being one of most eye-catching prominent feature in the Kathmandu Valley; the stupa is encircled by numerous monasteries and function as the core Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. Boudhanath features a dome at the base and a cubical structure above i.e. painted with a pair of the all-seeing-eyes of the Buddha symbolizing awareness on each side. An evening amble around the stupa is highly recommended, which is beaming with spiritual energy. Besides, one can also observe the light of butter lamps, neighbouring rooftop restaurants and shops selling souvenirs along with crowds of devotees encircling the stupa while enchanting the Buddhist mantras with burning incense sticks and prayer wheels on their hands. Boudhanath was declared a world heritage site in 1979 A.D.

Stop At: Pashupatinath Temple, Pashupati Nath Road, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal

Situated in the both banks of the holy Bagmati River, Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most sacred Hindu temples in Nepal. Dedicated to mighty Hindu deity Lord Shiva, the destroyer; It is believed that the site in which Pashupatinath temple itself is positioned have existed from the dawn of the millennium when a Shiva lingam was unearthed here. The temple was constructed in 5th century, which was later renovated by Malla kings of Nepal, features pagoda style in its structure. Regarded as the example of Hindu fine arts the primary pagoda on the western bank of the river highlights the roof inlay with gold, four sides coated with silver and wood carvings of the exceptional quality. Close by is the temple of Guheshwori dedicated to Shiva's spouse Devi Sati. Within the vicinity of the temple, one can find an essence of peace, spirituality and needless to say, death as about every single dead human in Kathmandu valley is cremated here with a hope to reborn as a human per stated in Hindu mythology. Declared a world heritage site in 1979 A.D., the temple is the core of Hindu religion and its tradition in Nepal.

Stop At: Swayambhunath Temple, Swayamhu Circle Road, Kathmandu 44620 Nepal

Situated at the top of a small Hillock in the northwest of the Kathmandu Valley, Swayambhunath Stupa aka the "Monkey Temple" is one of the holiest Buddhist Stupa in Nepal. This place is appropriate to catch the panorama of Kathmandu city. Swayambhu literally means "self-existent one" and it is believed that Swayambhu spring up from a lotus flower, which sprouted in the centre of a lake that once extend over the exact same spot where Kathmandu Valley was once positioned. Legend explains that the eminence of Kathmandu Valley have started as Swayambhu instinctively emerged when the valley was crafted out of a primordial lake beyond 2,000 years ago. This stupa is the one of the oldest structure in Nepal that was built by King Manadeva based on translations from an epigraph bearing the date of 460 A.D. Swayambhunath Stupa complex features the largest image of the Sakyamuni Buddha, a temple dedicated to Manjusri, chaityas, prayer wheels, statues and shrines, of Buddhist and Hindu deities, enormous gold plated Vajra ‘thunderbolt’, and Dewa Dharma Monastery.

Stop At: Durbar (Central) Square, Patan (Lalitpur) Nepal

Celebrated for its inspiring and artistic heritage, Patan Durbar Square is situated in the centre of Patan aka Lalitpur, oldest among the three cities within Kathmandu Valley. The former royal palace is home to a museum showcasing a wide range of artefacts and bronze statues. On top of that, the Durbar Square complex functions as the core of Patan’s social and religious values. The square is full of ancient places, temples, and shrines noted for their exquisite carvings. There are three primary courtyards or chowks within its vicinity, namely

Mul Chowk, Sundari Chowk and Keshav Narayan Chowk among which, Sundari Chowk harbours the Royal bath called ‘Tushahity’ in its centre, regarded as a paragon of stone architecture. Patan Museum, Krishna Temple, Hiranya Varna Mahavihar, Golden Window, Mahabouddha Temple, and Golden Temple are the eye-catching features that reflect the classic craftsmanship and creative skills of ancient Newar craftsman.
