The Annapurna Base Camp Trek (ABC trek) was the 1st commercial hiking trail in Nepal & outdoor lovers worldwide have been coming to the province for more than fifty years to explore what it is all about.

ABC Trekking Route progresses through culturally rich villages of Gurung and Magar ethnics which allow trekkers with plenty of opportunity of witnessing time forgotten culture. Mountain Flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara adds as another attraction of

Annapurna Base Camp. The flight progresses amid Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountain Range. The visitor also gets opportunity to explore the evergreen forest of Annapurna Conservation Area that is rich in various species of rare floras and faunas including blooming rhododendron, pine, spruce, fir trees and reptiles, ghorials, musk deer, leopard, langur monkeys, rhesus monkeys, bear and other beasts.

Annapurna Base Camp trekking package includes full board (food and accommodation) during the trek, transportation cost from Kathmandu-Pokhara- Nayapul and back to Pokhara from Nayapul.



Itinerary

DAY 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m/4264ft) 

Day 2: Kathmandu

Day 3 : Drive to Pokhara

Day 04 : Drive to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga : 4 hours trek

Day 05: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,750 m/ 9,020 ft): 4 – 5 hours trek

Day 06: Ghorepani to Tadapani (2,700m/8,860ft) with a visit to Poon Hill (3,210m/10,529ft): 6 – 7 hours

Day 07: Tadapani to Chhomrong (2170m/7120ft): 6 hours trek

Day 08: Chhomrong to Bamboo (2310m/7578ft): 4 – 5 hours

Day 09: Bamboo to Deurali (3230m/10,595ft): 3 – 4 hours

Day 10: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/13,545ft) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m/12135ft): 5- 6 hours

Day 11: Annapurna Base Camp

Day 12: Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1760m/5770 ft): 5 – 6 hours

Day 13: Trek to Naya Pul then drive to Pokhara: 6 hours trek, 1 hour drive

Day 14: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m/4264ft)
  • One of the representative from HSA will pick us up from the international airport and take you to our hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.
  • Day 2: Kathmandu valley Sightseeing
  • Full-day tour of old Kathmandu city, after breakfast in the morning you will be Proceed to Boudhanath Stupa ,Patan Darbar Square , Pasupatinath Temple and Swayambhunath Stupa. Swayambhunath is a Buddhist Stupa said to be more than 2000 years old, is perched on a hillock 77 meters above the valley floor and offering a bird’s eye view of the Kathmandu City.
  • Day 03 - Drive to Pokhara (900 m) in a Tourist Bus - 7 hours
  • Our trekking staff will pick you up from the hotel at 6:30 am and escort you to the tourist bus station. The bus to Pokhara leaves at around 7:30 am. A beautiful valley set on the banks of the Phewa Lake, Pokhara is also known for its panoramic views of Annapurna and Machapuchare (shape of fish tail) in the north, Dhaulagiri in the west and Lamjung Himal and Manaslu in the east. It is smaller and much less hectic than Kathmandu, hence providing the perfect starting point for our trek.
  • Day 04 - Drive to Nayapul (1,010 m) and Trek to Tikhedunga (1,570 m) - 4 hours
  • We begin our trek at Nayapul after an hours drive on a private vehicle from Pokhara. After a short 15-minute walk along the banks of the Modi Khola, we reach Birethanti (1,015 m), a large village with many shops and teahouses. From there, the trail continues through the village and follows the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola. The trail climbs steadily up the side of the valley to Hille at 1,495 m. After a short climb, we reach Tikhedhunga at 1,570 m. Today’s walk is relatively short and easy, a prelude to the trekking experience in the Annapurna region.
  • Day 05 - Trek to Ghorepani (2,840 m) - 5 hours
  • We move on towards the steep climb to Ulleri, a large Magar village at an altitude of 2,070 m. The trail ascends more gently from this point, through fine forests of oak and rhododendrons, towards Banthanti at 2,250 m. Then we trek towards Nangethanti at 2,460 m. After an hour walk we arrive at Ghorepani (2,840 m)
  • Day 06 - Hike up to Poon Hill (3,210 m) and Trek to Tadapani (2,610 m) - 7 hours
  • Today, very early in the morning, we start an hour hike to Poon Hill at an elevation of 3,210 m, a brilliant mountain range spectacle; this vantage point provides an unobstructed view of the sunrise over the high Himalayas. There we spend about 1 hour and returning to Ghorepani, we take a hot breakfast. Then we make a climb along ridges, and through pine and rhododendron forests, towards Deurali (2,960 m). After that, we descend to the Banthanti, then turn off to Tadapani.
  • Day 07 - Trek to Chomrong (2,140 m) - 5 hours
  • The day starts with a steep downhill through rhododendron forests. Leaving Tadapani, we descend through the forests and then the trail eases as we reach Gurjung which is the village of Gurung people. From here it is an easy walk to Chomrong at an elevation of 2,140 m.
  • We leave Chhomrong and walk on quite a number of stone steps before reaching the Chhomrong Khola. We cross a suspension bridge over the river and begin an uphill climb to Sinuwa. Our trail passes through a beautiful forest to Kuldihar. From here we embark on an easy descent to Bamboo. Overnight in Bamboo.
  • Day 08: Chhomrong to Bamboo (2310m/7578ft): 4 – 5 hours
  • Day 09: Bamboo to Deurali (3230m/10,595ft): 3 – 4 hours
  • We pass through a bamboo forest which is damp and cold. We then walk uphill on a trail which is sometimes steep. It is only after reaching Himalaya Hotel that the forest opens up and we are out in the sun again with astounding views of the glacial river below. It is a steep climb up through a much drier forest before reaching Hinku Cave. From here our trail descends to a river before ascending to Deurali. From here, we can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding hills and Mt. Dhaulagiri. We notice that the vegetation has become sparse allowing magical views of the valley, the river below and cliffs adorned with waterfalls. Overnight in Deurali.
  • Day 10: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/13,545ft) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m/12135ft): 5- 6 hours
  • Day 11: Annapurna Base Camp to bamboo
  • Day 12: Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1760m/5770 ft): 5 – 6 hours
  • Day 13: Trek to Naya Pul then drive to Pokhara: 6 hours trek, 1 hour drive
  • We leave Jhinu Danda and enjoy the beautiful hill landscape of western Nepal on our way to Naya Pul. We have lunch on the way. The actual trek to the Annapurna Sanctuary and back ends today. We board our vehicle to Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.
  • Day 14: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu
  • Day 15: Departure Day
  • We Drive (6 to 7 Hour ) by Tourist Coach to Kathmandu in the morning.We take you for a cultural dinner in the evening.
