About this activity
Ghorepani Poonhill Treks starting from comfortable altitude of 1100m, we follow the well-trodden routes through the forested route and picturesque Himalaya settlement of Tikhedhunga, Ulleri and Ghorepani. Hindu- Brahman and Chhetri and Buddhist farmer along with Magars and Gurungs (Tibeto-Berman groups) are major inhabitant of the region. Magar and Gurung are known for their bravery in British Gurkha Battalion. The fascinating culture and architecture of these community and the chances to experience the hospitality adds more charm to this trek. Whilst warm Ghorepani panders the needs of the trekkers who visit Poon Hill; afternoon trip in Ghorepani offers an opportunity to explore the lifestyle and culture of Gurung community.

A pre-dawn hike from Ghorepani to Nepal’s most visited physical landmark: the grassy summit of Poon Hill (3,210m) is the major highlights of the trek. It offers magnificent view of sunrise and tantalizing view of Dhaulagiri I, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, the scared Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and Manaslu.
