On these Journey of Lifetime Everest Base Camp Trek you’ll experience the base camp life of Mt. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)

Day 02: Trek Preparation Day

Day 03: Fly to Lukla, trek to Phakding (2,651m/8,700ft): 40 minutes flight; 8km, 3 - 4 hours trek

Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,438m/11,280 ft): 11km, 5 - 6 hours

Day 05: Acclimatization Day - Namche Bazaar: (3,440m/11,284ft)

Day 06: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870m/12,694ft): 10km, 5- 6 hours

Day 07: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m/14,300 ft): 9km, 5 - 6 hours

Day 08: Dingboche: Acclimatization

Day 09: Dingbouche to Lobuche (4940 m/16,207 ft): 4km, 2 - 4 hours

Day 10: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5170 m/16,961ft), visit Everest Base Camp (5364 m/17,594 ft): 13km, 6-7 hours

Day 11: Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5,545m/18,192ft) to Pherice (4,288m/14,070ft): 16km, 7-8 hours

  • Nepal entry visa. You can obtain a visa easily upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. A multiple-entry tourist visa good for 30 days can be obtained by paying US $ 40 or equivalent in foreign currency. Similarly, multiple-entry tourist visas for 90 days can be obtained by paying US $ 100. Please bring 2 passport-size photos.

  • We will be staying at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu (The Address Kathmandu Hotel or Similar one); and teahouses during the trek. All accommodations are on twin-shared basis. Scenic Nepal Treks will arrange rooms with attached washrooms; however, teahouses in some places only have shared washing and toilet facilities.
  • Meals
  • All meals will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu. There will also be welcome or farewell Nepali Cultural dinners for guests. While on trek, we have breakfast and dinner in the tea-houses/lodges we spend the night and lunch on our way to the next destination. Nepalese, Tibetan, the more common continental and Indian cuisines are common choices in the menu.
  • Physical Condition & Experience Requirements
  • Everest Base Camp Trek- 16 days is a moderate trek. Travelers who can walk up to 5-6 hours a day on an uphill and downhill trail will find this trek fulfilling. It is best that we prepare ourselves for the Everest trek by jogging and exercising regularly at least a month prior to the start of the trek. Trekking to the Everest Base Camp should be relatively easier for those who have experience walking/trekking in a high altitude environment. Past hiking experience would be an asset but no technical skill is required for this trip. It is also important that we consult our doctor.
