Everest Gokyo Valley Trek 11 Days

Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Lukla (2800m) and trek to Phakding (2652m). 3 - 4 hrs walk.

Pass By: Tribhuvan International Airport, Ring Rd, काठमाडौँ 44600, Nepal
We catch our early morning flight to Lukla, enjoying the marvelous view of Himalayas until we land in the thrilling Tenzing-Hilary Airport. From Lukla, we start our trek to Phakding walking past Cheplung village on our way. Overnight at a lodge in Phakding.

Day 2: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m). 5 - 6 hrs walk.

Stop At: Phakding's Bridge, Dhudh 56000, Nepal
We move alongside the Dudh Koshi River leading us to Sagarmatha National Park. We have to cross few suspension bridges over the river to reach the picturesque town of Namche Bazaar from where we can get the view of beautiful Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), and Thamserku (6623m). Overnight at a hotel in Namche Bazaar.

Pass By: Main Street, Namche Bazaar 56002 Nepal
We move alongside the Dudh Koshi River leading us to Sagarmatha National Park. We have to cross few suspension bridges over the river to reach the picturesque town of Namche Bazaar from where we can get the view of beautiful Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m),and Thamserku (6623m). Overnight at a hotel in Namche Bazaar.

Day 3: Rest Day at Namche Bazaar.

Stop At: Sherpa Museum, Everest Base Camp Trekking Rte, Namche Bazaar 56002 Nepal
We take a day off from trekking toacclimatize. We explore Namche Bazaar, also known as the Gateway to Everest, where we can visit the Sherpa Museum and get to learn about Sherpa culture, tradition, and lifestyle. We can also take a short hike to Hotel Everest View (3962m) to relish the stunning view of Everest (8848m). Overnight at a hotel in Namche Bazaar.

Day 4: Trek to Dhole (4200m).

Pass By: Mount Everest, Sagarmatha National Park 00977 Nepal
We climb uphill following Dudh Koshi River upstream. We walk past colorful monasteries, Chortens, and prayers flags before trekking through pine and rhododendron forests with a chance to encounter various animals on our way to Dhole. Overnight at a lodge in Dhole.

Day 5: Trek to Machhermo (4407m).

Pass By: Luza - Machhermo Rd, Khumjung 56000, Nepal
We continue our trek to Machhermo through thorny alpine bushes and scrub. The trail also passes through different villages with the view of yaks grazing the fields. Upon reaching, Machhermo, we get the marvelous view of Mount Cho Oyu (8201m), Thamserku (6623m), and Kangtega (6782m). Overnight at a lodge in Machhermo.

Day 6: Trek to Gokyo (4800m)

Stop At: Gokyo Lakes, Sagarmatha National Park 44600 Nepal
We ascend uphill through a ridge passing the first of the Gokyo lakes followed by the second lake. We continue our trek which takes us to the third lake known as Gokyo Tsho, where an annual fair is organized in the month of July. We then enter the valley of pristine lakes, Gokyo valley. Overnight at Gokyo.

Day 7: Hike up to Gokyo Ri (5483m) and back to Gokyo and rest.

Pass By: Mount Everest, Sagarmatha National Park 00977 Nepal
We take a short hike to Gokyo Ri, the highest viewpoint where we can view the eye-catching panorama of Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8481m), Cho-Oyu (8201m), and the longest glacier of the Himalayas--Ngozumpa Glacier. We spend the rest of the day exploring the outskirts of Gokyo village. Overnight at a lodge in Gokyo.

Day 8: Trek down to Dhole (4200m)

Pass By: Main Street, Namche Bazaar 56002 Nepal
We retrace our trail to Dhole gently descending downhill relishing the panoramic view of various mountains and passing through several villages. We walk through the forest to finally reach Dhole for an overnight stay.

Day 9: Trek down to Namche Bazaar

Pass By: Sagarmatha National Park Museum, Namche Bazaar 56000 Nepal
We start our trek to Namche Bazaar walking past Phortse Thanga and Mong. We continue walking on stone steps through Mani walls as we pass through several Sherpa settlements and rhododendron forests to arrive in Namche Bazaar. Overnight stay at a lodge in Namche Bazaar.

Day 10: Trek to Lukla

Stop At: Tenzing-Hillary Airport (LUA), Lukla - Everest Base Camp Trekking Route 30, Chaunrikharka 56000, Nepal
For our final day of the trek, we hike back towards Lukla with unforgettable memories of the mountains and lakes, following the Dudh Koshi River downstream, and crossing some suspension bridges. Overnight at a lodge in Lukla.

Day 11: Fly back to Kathmandu
