Kanchenjunga South Base Camp Trek - 14 Days

Itinerary

Day 1: Fly from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur (93m) 1 hour

Stop At: Bhadrapur Airport, Birtamod-Chandragadhi Road, Bhadrapur 57200, Nepal
Visit Bhadrapur airport and Teagarden
Duration: 30 minutes

Meals included:

Accommodation included: Hotel Aani Heritage Plaza or same category

Day 2: Drive to Taplejung (1820m) 10 hours

Stop At: Kanyam Tea Area, Kanyam, Suryodaya 57312, Nepal
Visit Nepals biggest tea garden and taste fresh green tea at a local teahouse.
Duration: 40 minutes

Accommodation included: Mewakhola Hill Resort or same category

Day 3: Trek from Taplejung to Lalikharka. (1880m) 6 hours.

Stop At: Suketar Airport, Taplejung 57500, Nepal
After breakfast, we head out on the trek. It’s a short, easy day today as we pass rich pastures and beautiful settlements. The trail winds down through tropical forests and crosses a dirt road several times before reaching Lali Kharka, which has several local lodges to stay at.
Duration: 10 minutes

Accommodation included: Overnight at a local guesthouse. Accommodation will be basic with a little clean bed and outside toilet.

Day 4: Trek from Lalikharka to Khesewa (2120m), 6-7 hours.

Stop At: Lalikharka khel maidan, Phidim 57400, Nepal
After a tasty morning meal, we descend through millet and rice fields until we reach a suspension bridge over the Phawa Khola (1430 meters). We continue to a small Gurung settlement called Sinchebu Bhanjyang (2240 meters) and maybe stop for a snack or tea here. It’s a special moment here actually, as we catch our first glimpses of Kanchenjunga and Kyabru. Take some deep breathes and admire these wonderful mountains. Continue over the pass and descend to Khesewa.
