About this activity
Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal and is filled with many ancient cultural heritages. So, under the Kathmandu full day sightseeing, you will be able to explore many temples and stupas enriched with much cultural and religious importance. In the full day sightseeing, you will visit the residence of the ancient Kings of Nepal, Kathmandu Durbar square which is also included in world’s heritage list, Telaju temple and Jaggannath temple filled wooden crafts and native architecture.

The main highlight of Kathmandu Full Day Sightseeing will be Kathmandu Durbar square situated in Basantapur, Hanumandhoka. The square is full of historical monuments. The stone statue of Hanuman (Hindu deity) and the Golden Gate of the palace are the main attraction there. Apart from that, The 3- roof Taleju Temple is yet another attraction. The temple is opened only once in a year (during Nepalese biggest festival, Dashain). This temple is especially famous for its unique Newari (an ethnic group of people dominating the population of Kathmandu valley) architecture and culture. Also, you could hear many local stories related to this very temple. The history you will find here is very old and it dated back to almost 12th century. The Lord Krishna Temple you will see there was built in 1649 AD by King PratapMalla in memory of his queen

Other highlights of the place include the huge statue of Kalbhairab (Hindu deity who is the furious form of Lord Shiva) and Kasthamandap which was built in 12th century with the wood of a single tree. However, the Kasthamandap was destroyed during the destructive earthquake that took place in April 2015.

Nepal is the epitome of religious tolerance and Kathmandu Full Day Sightseeing gives you the clear idea about why it is said so. During the sightseeing, you will also visit one of the holiest religious places of Hindus, Pashupatinath. The temple covered with the golden roof and enclosed with silver doors. It is yet another UNESCO world heritage site.
