DAY 1 Kathmandu Arrival

Airport pickup, hotel transfer and enjoy welcome dinner. 

Day 2 Kathmandu sightseeing and trek preparation

Orientation & guided tour of 4 UNESCO World Heritage sites. 

Day 3 30 mins flight to Pokhara, 2 hour’s drive to Syauli Bazaar and 3 hours trek to Ghandruk

At Pokhara, the beautiful lake city, we are rewarded with magnificent views of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre, the five peaks of Annapurna and others.

Day 4 Ghandruk to Tadapani (2,590m) 4 hrs

In Ghandruk, we get to enjoy astonishing views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli Mountains.

Day 5 Tadapani to Dobato (3,350m) 5 hrs

After Tadapani we leave the main trail and for the next five days we will walk in a more remote area of the Annapurna region.

Day 6 Dobato to Upper Chistibung (2,975m) 5 hrs

After breakfast, we descend through open ground and beautiful forest to reach the pastures of Lower Chistibung. Next, we ascend gradually through a forest before reaching Upper Chistibung which is a temporary herder’s settlement. If you’re lucky, you might even spot the colorful Lophophorus (Danphe), the national bird of Nepal, as well as Himalayan thar on the grassy ridge high above the trail.

Day 7 Trek to Khopra Ridge (3,660m) 4 hrs

As we approach Khopra Ridge, we see the tip of Annapurna South.

Day 8 Rest day in Khopra Ridge: Tour of Kaire Lake (4,500m) 11 hrs

We begin trekking from around six in the morning towards the Kaire Lake from where we attain excellent views of the Fang and surrounding mountains.

Day 9 Trek to Swanta Village (2,200m) 6 hrs

Along the way we get more views of Mount Dhaulagiri with the mountain providing a lovely backdrop to the terraced fields and traditional houses in the nearby villages.

Day 10 Trek to Ulleri (2,050 m) 6 hrs

From Swanta we descend through the village fields to a small river and take a quick look at the local water mill.

Day 11; 5-6 hours trek to Naya Pul then 1 hour drive to Pokhara

On our way to Nayapul, we get to enjoy the amazing hill landscape of western Nepal. Our trek will end at Nayapul where we board our vehicle to Pokhara, the beautiful lake city

Day 12 Sightseeing in Pokhara then fly to Kathmandu

We leave our hotel early in the morning to visit the Shanti Stupa, a Buddhist Stupa ranked as the top second attraction in Pokhara by TripAdvisor. While here, we enjoy amazing view of the sun as it rises from the mighty Himalayas.

  • Your safety is of paramount concern while traveling with Himalayan Glacier. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary; however, since this adventure entails travelling in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee that we will not deviate from it. Weather conditions, health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary. The leader will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if required.
  • We will be staying at Hotel Moonlight in Kathmandu, Mt. Kailash Resort in Pokhara and teahouses during the trek. All accommodations are on twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional USD 290. Himalayan Glacier will arrange rooms with attached washrooms; however, teahouses in some places only have shared washing and toilet facilities. Also, note that single rooms are readily available in Kathmandu and the trekking regions at lower elevation but it might be difficult to find them at higher elevations.
  • Breakfast will be served in Kathmandu and Pokhara and all meals will be served during the trek. Breakfast will be taken in the same place we stay for the night. Similar arrangements can also be made for dinner. Lunch will be taken en route to the next destination. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners hosted by Himalayan Glacier.
  • Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are the best months for this trip. Although this trip can be taken during winter, the cold temperature might not be suitable for everyone.
  • This is moderate trek suitable for passionate walkers with the ability to walk at least 5-7 hours a day with a light day pack. Walking in higher altitudes is more physically demanding than walking in lower altitudes; however, if we are in excellent health with average physical fitness and have a positive attitude, self confidence and strong determination, we can accomplish this trek successfully. Exercising and jogging regularly for some weeks prior to the trip is a good idea to enhance our strength and stability. Past hiking experience would be an asset but no technical skill is required for this trip. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood diseases are required to consult their doctor before taking the trip. It is also advised that you inform Himalayan Glacier about the medical condition before booking the trek.
