DAY 1 Kathmandu Arrival

Airport pickup, hotel transfer and enjoy welcome dinner. 

Day 2 Kathmandu sightseeing & trek preparation

Orientation & guided tour of 4 UNESCO World Heritage sites. 

Day 3: 50 mins flight to Tumlingtar, 4 hours driveto Chichira

Meet rest of the crew members.

Day 4 Chichira-Num (1,560m) 7 hrs

A ridge line with great views on both side & perched on the end, this is Num for us.

Day 5 Num-Seduwa (1,500m) 7 hrs

A steep descent through forests and terraced farms takes us to Barun River. 

Day 6 Seduwa-Tashigaon (2,100m) 5 hrs

At Tashi Gaon, we are surrounded by breathtaking Himalayan panorama.

Day 7 Tashigaon-Khongma Danda (3,500m) 7 hrs

This will be a bit of a tough day as we have to walk on a steep trail in higher elevation.

Day 8 Khongma Danda -Acclimatization

For those who wish to explore the nearby surrounding can walk around the area.

Day 9 Khongma Dand-Dobate 7 hrs

Marvelous views of Chamlang (7321m), Peak 6 (6,524m) and Peak 7 (6,758m).

Day 10 Dobate-Yangri Kharka (3,557m) 7 hrs

We should be very careful during the first 2 hours of trek as the trail is steep and arduous.

Day 11 Yangri Kharka-Langmale Kharka (4,410m) 6 hrs

A significant rise in the scenic Himalayan views.

Day 12 Langmale Kharka-Makalu Base Camp (4,870m) 7 hrs

Langmale Kharka-Shershon-Makalu Base Camp.

Day 13 Explore Makalu Base Camp

We see the magnificent south face of Makalu and the complete panorama of Everest and Lhotse.

Day 14 Makalu Base Camp-Yangri Kharka 7 hrs

We descend from the base camp and take our last glimpse of Makalu.

Day 15 Yangri Kharka-Dobate 7 hrs

Descend through rock falls, green forests and valley, making our way towards Dobate.

Day 16: Dobate-Khongma Danda 6 hrs

 climb from Dobate to Mumbuk (Nambuk) and through a forest of firs and rhododendrons.

Day 17 Khongma Danda-Tashigaon 5 hrs

The trail takes us to the indigenous Sherpa village of Tashigaon.

Day 18 Tashigaon-Seduwa 5 hrs

Cross the hillside and come across villages and settlements stopping at Seduwa

Day 19 Seduwa-Num 6 hrs

We leave Seduwa and trek through lush forests towards Num.

Day 20 Num-Tumlingtar 7 hrs

Retrace our footsteps to Chichira from where we can savor the glorious vista of Mount Makalu .

Day 21: 50 mins flight to Kathmandu:

Rest day at Kathmandu. Enjoy Farewell Dinner. 

Day 22 Final departure

  • Your safety is of paramount concern while traveling with Himalayan Glacier. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary; however, since this adventure entails travelling in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee that we will not deviate from it. Weather conditions, health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary. The leader will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if required.

  • We will be staying at Hotel Moonlight in Kathmandu and teahouses during the trek. All accommodations are on twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional USD 290. Himalayan Glacier will arrange rooms with attached washrooms; however, teahouses in some places only have shared washing and toilet facilities. Also note that single rooms are readily available in Kathmandu and the trekking regions at lower elevation but it might be difficult to find them at higher elevations.
  • During our trek, we can enjoy authentic Nepalese food as well the more common international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.). Breakfast and dinner will be served from the tea-house where we spend the night whereas lunch will be served on the way to the next destination. All meals will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners for guests.
  • Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are the best months for this trip. Although this trip can be taken during winter, the cold temperature might not be suitable for everyone.
