Itinerary

Day 1: Drive through Trisuli to Kerung in Tibet (6 hours, 149km)

Stop At: Rasuwa Ghadhi, 45000, Nepal
We meet at Thamel and start our drive to Rasuwagadhi, early morning at around 4.30 am ,through the black-topped road to get to the newly started Nepal-Tibet border called Rasuwagadhi-Kerung border. After immigration formality at Rashuwagadhi, drive to Kerung which is the first village of Tibet and it takes 2 hours drive to reach Kerung from Kathmandu.

Day 2: Acclimatization day at Kerung

Stop At: Rasuwa Ghadhi, 45000, Nepal
We need a day rest here to get accustomed to the high altitude. We will spend the entire day with short hikes around the village.

Day 3: Drive from Kerung to Saga (5-6 hours, 4,640m)

Stop At: Rasuwa Ghadhi, 45000, Nepal
Driving through the hills on black topped road we pass through the high passes Thong La and La Lung to reach Saga at an altitude of 4640 meters. Along the way, we will be able to see Lake Peikutso and Tibetan people grazing their yaks and sheep.

Day 4: Drive from Saga to Lake Mansarovar (5-6 hours, 277km, 4558m)

Stop At: Rasuwa Ghadhi, 45000, Nepal
Starting early today, we will drive towards the highest fresh water lake in the world, the holy lake Mansarovar that lies at an altitude of 4558 meters. It is believed that the lake was once a resting place of Hindu God Vishnu and this lake is surrounded by Mt. Kailash, Mt. Gurula-Mandala and the Rakshash (Demon) Lake. Locals believe that this Demon Lake was created by one the evil King named Ravan, so the water in this lake is considered poisonous.

Day 5: Explore around Mansarovar Lake and Drive to Darchen (1 hour, 40km, 4575m)

Stop At: Rasuwa Ghadhi, 45000, Nepal
Today we have the time to explore around the holy lake Mansarovar and perform some rituals and drive onwards to Darchen. Darchen is situated right in front of the Mtount Kailash.

Day 6: Kailash Kora Day 1. Drive to Tarboche and start trek to Dira Puk, 4,900 m (5-6 hours)

Stop At: Rasuwa Ghadhi, 45000, Nepal
Today we will drive to the small settlement of Tarboche. Tarboche is the starting point of the Kailash Kora. Yamadwar, the gateway of the god of death, is located in Tarboche. So from here we will start on our leg and few hours of walk will take us to a village of Derapuk situated infront of the north face of Mt. Kailash. Today, we will be able to see the beautiful views of the Gurla-Mandala, Ape, Kamet and other high peaks.

Day 7: Kailash Kora Day 2. Trek to Zhutul Puk crossing Dolma la Pass, 4,760 m (8-9 hours, 19km)

Stop At: Rasuwa Ghadhi, 45000, Nepal
Today is the longest and streanous trekking day of the Kailash Kora. Walking through Jarok Donkhang Village and Shiva-tsal, we will get to the banks of the Lham-chu Khir River. We will follow the river and get to the Khando Sangam La facing the eastern side of Mt. Kailash and a short walk from here will take us to Juthulpuk. The place got its name from the famous cave of Juthulpuk or the miracle cave. On the way, we will be able to see the footprints of Buddha.

Day 8: Kailash Kora Day 3. End Kailash Kora and drive to Saga

Stop At: Rasuwa Ghadhi, 45000, Nepal
During the morning, we will be exploring the caves and temples around the Milarepa cave. We will hike for 3 to 4 hours to complete our Kora and get back to the village of Darchen. We will have lunch there, and drive back to Saga.

Day 9: Drive back to Kerung

We will drive back to Kerung, freshen up and relax in our guest house.

Day 10: Exit from Tibet. Drive to Kathmandu

oday we drive back to Kathmandu and is the last day of your adventure tour to Mt. Kailash and Lake Mansarovar
