About this activity
The trek starts with a gentle climb through the narrow trail above the raging Nar khola (river), and taking you through the lush coniferous forests, cascading waterfalls, barren ridges, high pasture grounds, small teahouses that lay on the way. The glimpses of Himalayan Tahr and Blue sheep on the rugged trails are sure to captivate the hearts of any trekkers, making you bound to stop for a while and capture the moment. This trek goes through two highest passes called Kang La pass (5332m) and Thorang La pass (5416m).

Nar and Phu are the main villages of the region that are situated above the tree line. During the winter, the people of Nar and Phu villages move down to the villages near by Manang. The people of this region are mostly engaged in herding yak and selling meat, wool and hides to other villagers. In the recent years, the locals have also started opening small tea houses and lodges to cater the tourists. All the required fooding and lodging materials are brought from lower lands, carried by yak, mule or even the locals themselves and thereby being slightly expensive.

The best time to visit this destination is during April – June and September – November
