About this activity
Your day begins with a pickup from either your hotel in Kathmandu Valley or the designated departure point at 7am. Drive for about 25 minutes to Kritipur, to a local family home where the cooking class will be held. Visit the local market to buy ingredients and our organic farm to pick seasonal vegetables that you will be using for your class. Enjoy morning tea or coffee while we prepare for the cooking class.

You will learn how to cook typical Nepali food, such as Dal Bhat, which can be prepared vegetarian or non-vegetarian, Rice Pudding, Momo and Sel Roti (celebration bread optional), along with flavorful recipes to share with friends back home.

At the end of the lesson, enjoy your creation with new-found friends, sitting on the terrace while sipping on local wines. The class will finish at approximately 12pm. You will be dropped off back to your pickup location.

An experience not to be missed when in Kathmandu. We had finished our trekking a couple of days early so had some free time, so the idea of doing a cooking class seemed like a good idea, learning how to make a traditional Dahl Bhat and Mo Mos and Masala tea! We were not disappointed, Kalpana Thapa and her family welcomed us into their home, Kalpana shared some of her family secrets in this hands on cooking class. We were invited to eat what we had made with Kalpana and her lovely family. A fantastic and most memorable day. Highly recommended. Thank you Kalpana for your hospitality.
