About this activity
Guests will load into a Blackbird Hovercraft and take a flight from Ketchikan to a remote beach on another island. Throughout the flight, the pilot and Tour Guide will explain how a hovercraft operates and what makes the vessel so unique.
Once the guests have pulled up onto the shore, they will get to enjoy the beach looking for wildlife, beach combing, and taking pictures of surrounding area. Opportunity for taking pictures with the hovercraft in a remote setting.
On the way back to the pier, the guests take a scenic coastal cruise around Pennock Island. The Tour Guide will give a narrated tour of the surrounding points of interest, wildlife, totem poles and much more.

We saw humpback whales, sea glass, bald eagles, and even got to ride in the copilot's chair! There were plenty of photo ops, and there were chances to get out and walk. We had plenty of time to shop afterwards as well, and do a lumber Jac show afterwards! The guys we're extremely nice, and very helpful! You can't lose with this excursion. It's quick and fun leaving you plenty of time to do other things :-)
The day of our tour the wildlife viewing area was fogged in so we did not have a chance to see any wildlife although we did ride in the hovercraft, which was fun and they took us to some other areas but we didn't see anything very interesting. I know the operator cannot control the weather but they need an alternate interesting experience or to refund a portion of the money if weather precludes any meaningful activity.
Our guides were amazing! They treated us like they have known us forever! It was an exciting trip and we seen lots of wildlife. The way the Hoover craft makes it’s way from sea to land is cool. I highly recommend this excursion!
