My two early 20's sons and I greatly enjoyed our recent experience kayaking with Ketchikan Kayak. The service, knowledge, food, and fun provided by both Lou and Grayson were all top-notch. Would definitely use them again. I booked the 4 hr "Eco-Tour" via Viator, which was really easy to do. We ended up just being a group of four, which made the tour all that much more special. We saw lots of animals up close, which was really cool--- including eagles (both juveniles and mature), seals, and other birds I'm forgetting names of, etc. Lou was very knowledgeable and informative about the flora and fauna so we learned a lot of interesting stuff. I specifically picked Ketchikan Kayak because of their good reviews and because I didn't want to be part of the huge masses, typically found with cruise ship excursions (we were on a cruise, but I booked all excursions on my own, not through the cruise ship). Ketchikan Kayak's location was a short, easy walk from the ship. From there, they promptly transported us to the water (maybe 15 min van ride). After the tour, we were treated to some yummy snacks and sodas/local beers, which really hit the spot (thanks, Grayson!). Then we were transported back to our starting point, where we were able to explore local restaurant(s) and shopping before getting back on the ship. The only thing that could have made it even better was if it hadn't rained for about 1/2 hour of the tour (... but who can control the weather?, and in Ketchikan, it rains a lot, apparently!); it really wasn't much of a damper though, as Ketchikan Kayak provided helpful gear for those who wanted it (rain jackets and pants) to layer over our clothes. This worked well and minimized any negative effect of the rain. Highly reco!

Headed out on the bay to see the sights. Very small group - 2 kayaks plus the guide. Guide was terrific. It was high tide so the shoreline was not exposed but we saw plenty. Eagle nest and eagle, baby Harbor seal and mom, plus a group of Harbor seals hidden in a protected cove. All in all, a fun adventure.

What an amazing adventure!! Ryan and Simon were wonderful tour guides and so knowledgeable. We actually encountered 5 hump back whales that were bubble feeding while we were kayaking. Got to follow them around a bit! Weather was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Highly recommend this group to anyone. Very personable and wonderful group of guys. Also offered the bike tours, but we opted for the kayaking!

This was the best kayak tour I have been on. Amanda was a great paddling partner and I really feel awful but I can't remember our other guides name......but he was just as wonderful as Amanda!!!! both were very informative with some great stories. would definitely do this again should I ever get back to Ketchikan!!!!

None of our party had our own kayak gear/clothing, but they outfitted us completely for safety and comfort. Among the six of us, all middle aged women, we had different levels of experience and skill, and they treated everyone with respect. The guides were knowledgeable, , skilled, funny, and well-informed about local eco-issues. Great trip!
