About this activity
When your cruise ship docks in Ketchikan, a minivan will provide transport to the majestic waterfront facility in Clover Pass. You'll receive a brief safety introduction before you receive your tandem kayak and enter the protected waters of Clover Pass. The tranquil waters offer the perfect opportunity for both novice and experienced kayakers to build confidence in their skills.

Eagle Island is part of Tongass National Forest, which takes up most of southeastern Alaska and surrounds the Inside Passage. The forest offers splendid scenery and the perfect background to see local wildlife as you paddle around Eagle Island. Bald eagles soar overhead, seals swim and salmon jump into sight. If you're lucky, you may even spot humpback whales and orcas. No experience is necessary for this sea kayaking shore excursion from Ketchikan – just a thirst for Alaskan adventure!

Our family of 6 had a fantastic time on the group tour. There were 14 participants and 2 guides. They made sure everyone had a great time.

Very friendly staff. Beautiful day. We stopped on the shore and saw amazing starfish! Great gear. Just a beautiful spot and we had great weather.

My daughter and I enjoyed the kayaking part of this excursion. The guides were wonderful, very organized and thorough. We felt it was a little lacking in what we were able to see. Perhaps it was the time, we went on the early excursion. We had quite a bit of rain, but we did manage to enjoy the experience. I would recommend this adventure as the views were very impressive-especially the eagle watching.

Had a great time! Got a little rough at times, but that made it a little more challenging. Saw lots of eagles.

The equipment and guides were excellent. The only downer was the rain and wind.

What a great 1st time sea kayaking experience. From the pick-up to the drop-off and in between, I was well attended to and taken care of. The guides were great - I believe Luke and Rainee were my group's leads - and they not only showed up some amazing purple, orange, and nearly yellow starfish, we saw a large bald eagles' nest and even a sea lion. The water was perfect and so was the experience.

Just returned from Alaska and this excursion was easily the highlight of those we took. We were lucky enough to have a small group and Abby as our guide. She was knowledgable and tailored the experience on the water for each person. The setting was beautiful and far enough out of town to get a true taste of Ketchikan. We saw eagles, deer and a variety of sea life. The equipment, facilities and shuttles used were also top notch and the staff was professional. Even if you only have a few hours to spare in Ketchikan, this kayaking trip is more than worth it.

Amazing ! Highly recommended, and Sasha our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the area, the marine life, and Eagle Island. We got some great photos and really enjoyed ourselves.

Even in the rain this was a fantastic trip. The guide/van driver was friendly and fun. The staff was concerned for our safety. After wind conditions picked up and made the crossing back to base a bit iffy, they had a boat come pick us up on the leeward side of the island. Will definitely recommend this one to anyone going to Alaska.

Tour was nice. Guides were helpful and friendly. Had never kayaked before, so a little more instruction would have been helpful for beginners.
