Ketchikan Shore Excursion: Zodiac Wildlife Adventure

2h30
About this activity
You'll be picked up at the cruise ship terminal and take you on a short 3-mile drive to Saxman Native Village. Watch a short safety video, sign a waiver and get outfitted in top-of-the line gear. Then walk down to your boat, get you another safety briefing, and hop

aboard the 14-foot inflatable boat to explore one of the most beautiful places in the Southeast Alaska Inside Passage.

Driving your own boat, follow your guide through inlets and estuaries and adventure out onto the open water in search of whales, seals, sea lions and more. Keep an eye out for some the commercial crabbing vessels featured on the Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch!

The exact route will depend on wind, weather and location of wildlife. You'll be on the water for about 2 hours of exhilarating fun. After returning to the marina, take off your gear and warm up with a hot beverage before your shuttle departs for the cruise ship dock.

Great firsthand view of Ketchikan. Charlie is a real gem of a guide. Totally fun seeing wildlife up close in the Zodiac. We got amazing pictures thanks to his guidance through the area.Well worth the price!

We are boat people and this was the best way I could imagine seeing eagles, seals and the beautiful scenery from the bay! Highly recommend especially when they give you hand, foot and slicker gear to keep you dry!

We had a fantastic time on this excursion. We learned a lot about the area and I would love to go back to fully explore Ketchikan. Our guide was knowledgeable and super friendly. Watching the eagles swoop for fish right in front of the boat will be a lifelong memory. The boat was easy to navigate and they provided us with all the gear we needed to stay warm and dry.

Great excursion! We were able to see a whale about 20 yards from our raft. We saw eagles and one actually swooped down in front of us. Was an exhilerating experience. I would highly recommend this excursion. Mary, our guide was great, fun and knowledgeable.
