Very enjoyable, informative tour. Staff were friendly and helpful and guide was very knowledgeable. Nice easy pace which makes it good for novice kayakers.

My first time in a kayak, Peyton our guide, taught us the strokes and it was very easy to navigate the waters. The water, mangroves, and wildlife were amazing!!

This tour might be good if you happen to be one of the people who jostle for a spot next to the guide, but if you are not assertive pushy and competitive, you may end up going on a nice paddle, but with not much of a tour. Our expectation was that the number of kayaks would be limited, but there were more than a dozen kayaks singles and doubles, including one paddleboarder who slowed the whole group. We also expected to see more wildlife than we did. Maybe we were too close to the highway or the channel with jet skis whizzing by, but we saw only Pelicans these were everywhere at the dock and, when our guide produced them, a sea cucumber and a sponge. This might offer some relief from the bustle of downtown Key West, but it's probably good to keep your expectations low.

Well, I didn't want to spend my whole week cooped up in my trailer working. I needed an adventure. I spotted this Kayak Tour https://www.viator.com//Key-West-Mangrove-Kay/d661-18235P1 and signed up. Note that although I have spent some time in a canoe, this was my first time in a kayak. And with balance being one of the skills withering away in my old age, I had trepidations, not so much fear of drowning or ruining my camera, but of embarrassing myself for falling in. Turned out that I managed to stay upright the whole trip, to a large extent due to having another person, with some kayak experience, up front. The only challenge was getting out of the kayak when the tour was over. Getting up off the floor is no longer an event i am competitive in. Anyway, we spent a wonderful two hours paddling around and through the mangroves. Pelicans the Key West pigeon were all around the dock. Iguanas were scattered through the trees. Sponges and other sea life were all over the place. Bethany, our tour guide, was friendly and knowledgable she made the tour worthwhile.
