Day 1: Kigali City Tour

Stop At: Kigali Arts Center, 44 KG 654 St, Kigali Rwanda
City tour of Kigali

Get to know this beautiful and amazing city. Kigali is the most safe and clean city in East Africa. You can even stroll around by yourself, get a moto bike to take you around, walk without worries, and enjoy the beauty of this lovely place. We will visit: Mt. Kigali for views of the city and the countryside. We will walk around mural walls to admire the artist paintings and meaning behind it. Rwandese love milk and can drink milk all the time, and for this reason our next stop will be at the Milk Bar where you can see locals sipping milk and enjoy some milk tasting. Afterwards, we will proceed to local market for some local fruit tasting and have local lunch. After lunch we will take a ride on water taxi to see how locals commute from work to home. Tour ends up at the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn the tragic past of this country. This day local lunch will be included.

Day 2: Akagera National Park

Stop At: Kigali Arts Center, 44 KG 654 St, Kigali Rwanda
Kigali-Akagera National Park-Kigali

This early morning we will head to the eastern part of Rwanda to visit Akagera National Park, hugging the boarder with Tanzania. The varied terrain shelters wildlife including zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions and hundreds of bird species, such as the rare shoebill stork. In the southern part of the park, vast Lake Ihema is home to hippos and crocodiles. Keep your camera fully charged to take the most amazing photos of wildlife in Akagera. Return later that day back to your hotel in Kigali. Lunch not included

Day 3: Kigali-Lake Kivu

Stop At: Kigali Arts Center, 44 KG 654 St, Kigali Rwanda
This morning after you finish your breakfast at your hotel we will head towards Lake Kivu about 3 hours drive from capital of Kigali. Lake Kivu is one of the African Great Lakes. It lies on the border between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, and is in the Albertine Rift, the western branch of the East African Rift. Lake Kivu empties into the Ruzizi River, which flows southwards into Lake Tanganyika. You will spend 2 nights at the Lake Kivu to enjoy the tranquility and beauty of scenery of this gorgeous and unique place everyone must visit. Take a boat ride along Lake Kivu to visit nearby islands such as Napoleon island (named because it is the shape of Napoleon’s hat), Mbabara island where coffee and macadamia nuts grows, and the majestic Peace Island where you can swim around and enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of Lake Kivu. The part of this itinerary also includes Genocide Memorial Church. Kibuye suffered greatly during the genocide of 1994. It was considered a Tutsi stronghold, so much so that for years there was no proper road leading there. Walking distance from the town centre is a large hill-top church which is a memorial to over 11,000 people who were murdered. It is in stark contrast with today’s relaxed, welcoming environment.

After two days at the Lake Kivu you will be transferred back to your hotel in Kigali and this marks the end of the 4 days tour of Rwanda
Duration: 2 days
