Koh Chang’s emerging position is not going unnoticed; one of the largest islands in Thailand and also one of the most picturesque with an often cloud shrouded central mountain range towering above. Being a National Park, the development will be limited which should ensure Koh Chang remains a charming getaway. Nearby islands are perfect for sailing trips, diving and fishing, while on island activities include elephant rides, cooking classes and walks to waterfalls. With the island’s most popular beaches located on the west side, the eastern part of Koh Chang remains relatively uncharted territory. Interested in exploring the unknown side of ‘Elephant Island? Then head eastwards with us on this joint tour option that puts the authentic part of Koh Chang in the spotlight.

After breakfast, your English speaking guide welcomes you at your accommodation before heading to the other side of the island. As this tour option is on a shared basis only, it may be possible that other customers will be joining you on board. We start heading into northern direction towards the village of Klong Son; the town is known for being one of the centres for rubber cultivation and is characterized by its surrounding mangrove forests. The importance of the village goes beyond its commercial value for the island as it is also home to one of the most famous spirit houses on Koh Chang. Your guide will thoroughly explain the meaning of a spirit house and clarify any questions you may have before continuing the journey by boat from Salak Khok. With mangroves as far as the eye can see, a boat trip is the most suitable way to get up and close with this natural phenomenon. Alternatively, you can use one of the kayaks to paddle through the mangroves in search for some hidden wildlife. Depending on the school holidays, you may make your acquaintance with the local youth at one of the few schools on the island.

For lunch, we have chosen a local restaurant back at Salak Khok, famous for its excellent seafood. This place gives you a real sample of traditional Thai cuisine before we move on to explore the eastern shores, jungle and landmarks of your tropical destination nearby the Cambodian border. Salak Phet is another of these picturesque towns with a temple that cannot be missed yet lies more on the west side than on the charming east side. Buddhism reigns supreme here and one cannot skip wandering around the complex with your guide explaining the importance of this way of living to the Thais. Before heading back to your resort, we stop for a local Thai coffee (or similar) where we catch a new glimpse of the charming beaches. The tour ends right at the doorstep of your booked resort at around 15:30 hrs.

Depending on the number of guests on any confirmed tours, the correct type of car / mini-van cannot be confirmed upon reservation.
Transfers are only operated on Koh Chang only and restricted to main hotels only. Other regions such as Trad, Koh Chang Ferry Terminal, Koh Kood, Koh Maak and Trad’s International Airport are excluded and supplementary charges apply.
We are unable to communicate with you with accurate participation numbers, as these may change until the very last moment.

It is the responsibility of the customer to provide us with the correct hotel information, should pick-up and drop-off services be included in the package. Any changes in accommodation outside 48 hours will be handled accordingly: changes within 48 hours may be on request.
We recommend wearing light, comfortable cotton clothing and comfortable shoes.
Visit to the local school remains subject to availability during school holidays and special occasions where the school refrains from accepting visitors. Unfortunately, we cannot always inform all our customers in advance about this.
