About this activity
Imagine a small tropical island with incredible snorkelling and scuba diving, a rich jungle in the centre and surrounded by remarkably quiet, palm tree laced beaches. You're imagining Koh Tao, a small island off the southern coast of Thailand - not far from the better known Koh Samui. The irregular bean-shaped Koh Tao features numerous bays full of natural beauty. Along its 28.6 kilometres shore stretches 8 kilometres of undisturbed coral reefs. Talking about some really relaxing spot, far away of the hustle and bustle of your daily hectic life, feel free to try this island out. For the icing on the cake, Koh Nang Yuan just tops any other contender for sheer beauty –a stunning example of a remote beach, crystal-clear waters and sundrenched islands that offer the pinnacle in relaxation. Two of Thailand’s top idyllic islands on the east coast within easy reach!
Around 07:30 hrs, your driver will be ready to bring you to the speed boat pier for a swift trip to Koh Nang Yuan, a collection of three small islands that are joined together via a sandbank: total peace and the feeling of being in another world. The crystal clear water offers a perfect visibility of the submarine life. Nearly the entire area is mountainous with its highest point reaching over 300 meters, delivering panoramic views of surreal beauty. It is also possible to climb one of the hills to enjoy this and capture a glimpse of nearby Koh Tao, our final stop for the day. (NB: entrance fees to Koh Tao are not included in the tour package – customers require paying this amount on spot, cash only and these fees are currently set at 100 Baht – subject to change)
A Thai set lunch is served on the Koh Tao; within easy reach of Khun Nang Yuan and switching boats to head to snorkeling and diving paradise Koh Tao. After lunch, get ready to board again for one of the island’s bays, where one can swim or snorkel around the boat the afternoon away. The return to Koh Samui is late in the afternoon, leaving paradise behind…
After Koh Tao, the speedboat takes you back to Koh Samui leaving the clear waters behind you. Back at your hotel is scheduled to be around 17:30 hrs.

Over look point and beach of Koh Nang Yuan become crowded soon in the morning. This tour starts early in the morning and speed boat reaches oh Nang Yung when other boats do not arrive.

Unfortunately it rained at the start of the trip and the speedboat crossing was a bit rough travelling to the islands. At our first stop we were bundled off the boat into the rain and very slippery decking. The rain stopped and although an idyllic setting this was somewhat dampened by the shear number of tourists on a small beach. It was not posible to lay on the beach as there is a rule that forbids laying on the beach but you can have a deck chair at a price, even though your stay there is very short. The cafe on the island seemed to employ the most miserable people in Thailand. Our second stop was much better with a good lunch provided. There was time to go on the beach but again this was too short a time. The trip back was really bad, although the weather had calmed down, the boat was going flat out and crashing down in the waves, causing people on board to be physically sick, with only the crew enjoying it who also found it amusing that paying customers were being ill. Not a trip that I would recommend!!
