About this activity
The PADI Freediver course consists of three sections:
• Knowledge development: where you learn about freediving principles through independent study using the PADI Freediver Touch. The Touch is an interactive study tool that gives you the background information you need to freedive safely and allows you to learn at your own pace. Your instructor may also conduct a brief classroom session to make sure you understand the main concepts required to freedive safely;
• Confined water session: this is where you learn breath hold techniques and static and dynamic apnea.The performance requirements for the pool sessions are to complete static apnea for at least 90 seconds and dynamic apnea for at least 25 metres.
• Open water sessions: where you get to practice free immersion and constant weight freedives, plus proper buddy procedures and rescue skillsThe performance requirements for the open water dives is to achieve a constant weight freedive of minimum 10 metres (maximum is 16 metres )

Schedule :

Day 1 will usually start at 9am in the classroom where you will complete the required course paperwork and have a short theory discussion with your instructor.

Next you will go to the swimming pool where you will put into practice the things you learnt in theory and you will practise the skills you need to become a safe freediver.

You will also be introduced to to correct diving techniques using the 3.5 metre deep section of our swimming pool.

On Day 2 we take you on one of our speedboats “Midnight Blue” to make the open water sessions. Pick up from your resort is around 7am-7.30am depending where you are staying on Koh Samui.

After getting a briefing from your instructor you will participate in 2 open water sessions and depending on our schedule and sea conditions, dive sessions can take place either in Koh Tao or at Sail Rock.

During the open water sessions you practice free immersion and constant weight freedives, proper buddy procedures and rescue skills.

We have lunch on the boat then move the boat to a second dive site and dive again in the afternoon so you can further practise your new skills. ( If the course takes place at Sail Rock , the dive site is be the same for the 2 sessions )

We usually return to Koh Samui between 1pm and 3pm depending on our destination that day.
