Kobe is also famous for its Western-looking architecture. This is a mansion built for Mr Sharp who come to Japan as the Consulate General of the United States after the port was opened in the second half of the 19th century. You can admire the view of Kobe from the mansion.

This is one of the symbolic buildings of Kobe along with Kobe Port Tower and Kobe Maritime Museum. This is a beautiful red brick building! It was built for Mr Thomas from Germany in the 20th century after the opening of Kobe Port. There is an exhibition where you can see the lifestyle of Mr. Thomas.

The bright red tower is known as a symbol of Kobe Port, it allows a 360 degree view of Kobe from the harbor to Mt. Rokko. "

The unique appearance of a sail of a wave or a sailing ship is one of Kobe's symbols. A museum created with the theme of "Sea, ship and harbor." It opened in 1987 to commemorate the 120th year of the opening of Kobe Port.

Not only will you learn about the history of the Japanese shipping industry, but also ships from all over the world. It also has the corporate museum of the Kawasaki Heavy Industries "Kawasaki Good Times World".

A park created by reclaiming existing wharves. Its creation was influenced by the American Consultants which was located close by. It is a spot where you can take some time-off, enjoy the scenery, watch boats and stop by at a cafe.

Kobe Bay Cruise (Ocean Prince/Royal Princess): Get onboard a cruise ship and enjoy the view of Kobe from the Harborland and Port Island. You can see the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge from the sea. The boat will take a trip of 40-45 minutes around the harbor.
