About this activity
The tour starts at 09:00 am when you can aboard from your preferred location. At the outset your tour partner will brief you on the itinerary. Your first spot will be Flower Market. Take a feel and walk through the fragrance of the biggest flower market in Asia which remains vividly colourful virtually 24 hours. Walking through the market you will reach the famous Howrah Bridge and have a small walk on the busiest cantilever bridge of the world. The bridge does not have nuts and bolts and was built by riveting the whole structure and is considered as one of the marvels in bridge construction globally. The next destination will be Parasnath Jain Temple of Kolkata, this temple is renowned for its exquisite glass work and artistic beauty. In the sanctum of this temple a lamp is burning since 1867, the inception of this temple. Now it’s time visit the place which is famous for idol making—Kumortuli, the potters’ paradise. If you are a book lover, then College Street Book Market, your next destination will fascinate you. Take a walk and have a feel of the bubbling book market. Here you can see from outside the Calcutta University (India’s first University) Hindu School & Hare School and can take a sip in the famous Indian Coffee House. Next you will be guided into the garden of Victoria Memorial (Garden only)-dedicated to the memory of Queen Victoria. Completed in 1921, this landmark is a prime attraction of Kolkata just like the next destination, the St. Paul’s Cathedral. Built in 1847 and known for its Indo-Gothic architecture, the cathedral is the first Episcopal Church in Asia. Its famous for the artistic stain glass paintings. Your last stop will be the Mother House where your friendly guide will make you aware about the noble efforts of one of the greatest humanitarian through stories and anecdotes while you trudge along the revered ground.
