Private Full day Splendid Chandannagar French Colonial Tour

Our driver will come to pick you up at your hotel at 08:00 AM. He will drive you to Chandannagar city. Chandannagar city has been a French colony in the past and is hence dotted by famous temples, churches, Museums, etc of a bygone era. The places of interest, we will cover are :

Chandannagar Strand: The ferry will take a stop here to visit the Chandannagar Strand. It is located on the banks of Hooghly River and is known for canopied trees, heritage buildings, Swami Vivekananda Mandir and majestic view of the ferries. From here we will go to Chandannagar Museum.

Chandannagar Museum and Institute: The museum displays classic collection of French antiques such as cannons used in Anglo-French war, wooden furniture of the 18th century, etc. The Institute till date conducts regular classes to teach French language. later enjoy lunch at Local Restaurant.

The Sacred Heart Church: It is located close to Chandernagar strand. Built in 1884 it is one of the oldest Church showcasing marvelous French architecture. Also visit the nearby remains of an age-old St. Louis Church.

Nandulal Temple : Built in 1740, the ancient temple displays splendid examples of ancient Indian sculptures. There is a cluster of temples devoted to Kali, Shiva and other deities. The sculptures emanate laudable impeccable artwork of craftsmen.

You will be then taken to the show the abode of some famous personalities.

The city has houses of some of the noted Indian freedom struggle activists like Rash Bihari Bose, Kanailal Dutta, etc.

Later, drive you back to the Kolkata hotel.
