Discover a land of passionate mysticism and spiritual faith, reflected in the diversity of temples in Kolkata. Our tour dips a toe into Kolkata’s blend of sanctified buildings, representing the major faiths of Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Following a pick-up from the hotel, drive by an air-conditioned sedan to the Kali Temple in Kalighat, one of the oldest neighbourhoods of South Kolkata. We’ll then cross by boat to Belur Math and visit the Maa Sarada Temple and shrine of Ramakrishna Dev. If luck is on our side, we'll get to spot some dolphins in the river. The next temple on our tour is the majestic Dakshineswar Kali Temple on the eastern banks of the Hooghly River built by a devotee in the year 1855. Continue to the Calcutta Jain Temple, a complex of 4 temples dedicated to Jainism, and admire the mirror-inlaid pillars of the Pareshnath Jain Temple, the beautiful fountains and the reservoir full of fish. This tour ends with the drop back to the hotel.
Places of interest: Kalighat Kali Temple, Maa Sarada Temple and Shrine of Ramakrishna Dev at Belur Math, Dakshineswar Kali Temple, and Calcutta Jain Temple.
