About this activity
Piyali BNamaste. I am Piyali, a passionate traveller and singer. I have been a part of the tourism industry for several years now, and have recently moved to Kolkata to host tours. Being a seasoned traveller and an inquisitive local has helped me polish my tours with the finer details of the city. Join me on this tour and know what makes Kolkata the ‘city of joy’.

DetailsExplore Kolkata through its colonial forts, buildings and monuments. Meet your host at Howrah Tram Station, and take a ferry ride over the magnificent Ganges river, indulge in panoramic views of the city and landmark bridges like the Howrah and Vidyasagar Setu. Arrive at the Old Post Office Street, famous for its historical monuments during British India and visit the High Court, Raj Bhavan, some old markets and end the walk at the St. John’s Church - one of the first public buildings erected by the East India Company. Learn Kolkata’s history, growth and agony through the freedom struggle, and discover what makes it stand tall as the ‘city of joy’ today.

Places of interest: Kolkata High Court, Raj Bhavan, old markets and St. John's Church.

Tip: Wear comfortable walking shoes and stay hydrated.
