About this activity
To start the tour we begin by picking you up from the hotel at 08:00 am. From there we take you to Shaheed Minar. The tallest structure, 158-foot high, pristine white, displays a blend of various architectural styles that is Turkish and Egyptian. At present the Shaheed Minar is acknowledged as a tribute to the Indian independence struggle.

The next spot in the Kolkata Walking Tour is the Town Hall, which has a majestic structure. It was designed by French military engineer Colonel Gastin and at present the building houses a museum and a library. After, Town Hall you will walk towards the High Court at Calcutta. The landmark building constructed in 1872 is the greatest architectural marvel. It was designed by Walter B. Grenville and has its exterior inspired with Gothic style.

Now, the walking tour takes you to Metcalfe Hall, which was built around 1840-42. Designed by C.K.Robinson, the building reflects the Britsh style architecture. The next stop is the Eastern Railway Commercial Offices and then we proceed towards Bankshall Court.

On this walking route you will come across Eastern Railways Headquarters. It is one of India’s largest hi-tech zones in the railways. The rest of the tour is followed by Netaji Subhas Road where you will witness many Victorian styles of architecture. Now your Kolkata walking Tour comes to an end. Head back to the hotel.
