National Park Mljet

The island of breathtaking nature and Odysey´s oasis of peace where time has been paused. In 1960 the western part of the island was declared a national park. It consists of two lakes (Large and Small Lake), surrounded by the dense forest. In the Large Lake on the islet of Melita (St. Mary) there is the Benedictine monastery from the 12th century. The islet is the symbol of the whole national park for its unbelievable aesthetics and strong cultural and spiritual dimension. Walk through the pine forest that surrounds the Small and Large Lake and enjoy the Mediterranean vegetation in its uniqueness and harmony, a boat ride around the Large Lake to the islet of St. Mary and the visit to the Benedictine monastery built in the 12th century and then go swimming in the beautiful, crystal clearlakes to relax your body and soul.
