About this activity
The Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park is one of these sandy pearls in the South China Sea, offering day trips for those seeking a paradisiac destination within short sailing range from Kota Kinabalu. Named after Malaysia's first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman, it gained the official status of National Park in 1974 and became the second national park in the country. This park comprises of 5 islands - Pulau Gaya, Pulau Sapi, Pulau Manukan, Pulau Mamutik and Pulau Sulu – with sufficient sandy beaches and azure-colored waters that make up for a tropical escape.

Your guide cum driver waits after having had a good breakfast at your hotel and drives you to the main boat pier (Jesselton Point Ferry) where you will board your vessel that brings you to one of the islands – Pulau Manukan -, one of the better islands for a day having fun in the sun. The boat ride takes approximately 15 minutes and you will see the islands slowly popping up above the horizon. Once you put your feet in the sand, it is all relaxation time for you and your travel companions; laze around with a good book with the ocean winds and swaying palm trees, providing chilled background music. Or when the stunningly clear waters calling out your name, snorkeling equipment is available to see what’s happening below the ocean surface. During your hours of peace and serenity in tropical Malaysia, a BBQ lunch on the island is included.

After spending a few hours on the island, it is time to head back to Kota Kinabalu and your booked hotel. The vessel will be within 20 minutes back at your disembarkation point near Kota Kinabalu centre and your hotel.
